I’d love to report that there’s actually something interesting going on that’s keeping me from writing a post of any substance.
- We drove down to Edmonton on Friday to pick up Dave’s parents, rather than letting them take a bus home at midnight. We were presented with the option of leaving Friday night or Saturday morning, but with absolutely zero hesitation, everyone decided that leaving Friday night and sleeping in our own beds would be much better.
- Good thing we left Friday, too. We woke up on Saturday with three inches of snow. And I hate driving in snow. Terrified of it. And it’s been over ten years since I hit that stop sign. You’d think I’d be over it by now, but I’m not.
- Dave found out he’s headed off for a few days in December on his first business trip! Too bad he’s not going anywhere exciting. Still, business trip. How cool is that? We’re not used to this sort of thing.
- Still playing Dragon Age. I discovered that Steve Valentine is the voice of Alistair and now whenever there’s dialogue involving that character, all I can picture is Nigel from Crossing Jordan.
- We have a bizarre interest in salt, of all things. In Edmonton on Friday night, we spent five minutes picking through all the fancy finishing salts before arriving at Murray River Australian flake salt. It’s pink! Flake salt, if you’ve never used it, is way more awesome than that boring stuff you find in a shaker.
- Dave is officially barred from reading or watching TV shows about cooking. He’s discovered that even though our coffee grinder is awesome, there’s something it’s missing. Apparently it doesn’t grind the beans evenly, meaning it doesn’t guarantee the strength of the coffee because of size differences. And some of the stuff gets ground up too fine, which goes through the filter of the french press and leaves silt in the cup. What does all of this mean for us? Dave is poking at coffee grinders again.
- My hair might actually be long enough to do something with! I’d love to wander down to the hairdresser and say “I want to look like a girl again.” Although it’s too long now to stand up all on it’s own. And get this! When you shave your head, your hairs (all of them) don’t grow back at the same rate! So I’m looking a wee bit shaggy.
- Loving Windows 7 so far! I’m having some trouble getting used to the way the taskbar functions, but that’s about it. And I’m somewhat disappointed that there are no new games included. I love the themes. I love how everything I’ve installed actually works right away. No monkeying. And it works well.
- I cannot find the CD No Happy View, by Wolfsheim – more specifically, the song This Time. I had it on my YouTube playlist, but it’s been removed. I should add the entire discography of Wolfsheim to my wish list.
